Ojais Daily Hydration Pink Lemonade electrolyte mix

Why we made this

Staying hydrated takes more effort than it used to

Most people only think about electrolytes when they're sweating through a workout. But fluid balance is something your body manages every hour of every day, and how easily it manages it changes as you get older.

Four things shift, and most of them happen quietly.

Thirst gets quieter

The thirst signal becomes less reliable with age. You can be low on fluid well before you feel like drinking anything.

The body holds less water

Total body water declines over the decades, so there's less margin when intake drops for a day or two.

Medications play a role

A number of common prescriptions change how much fluid and how many minerals the body holds onto. Your pharmacist can tell you if yours do.

Water alone isn't the whole answer

Fluid balance depends on minerals as well as water. Sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium are what let your body actually put that water to use.

A note from our founding physicians

Let's talk about the sodium

If you're over fifty, you have probably been told to watch your salt. So the first thing you should ask about any electrolyte powder is how much sodium is in it, and whether that's appropriate for you.

Most of the popular electrolyte sticks on the market are built for endurance athletes losing salt by the liter. Some carry a thousand milligrams of sodium or more in a single serving. That's a sensible dose for someone running a marathon in August. It is not what most people need with breakfast.

We formulated Daily Hydration with 125 mg of sodium per serving. Enough to support normal fluid and electrolyte balance, in an amount meant for daily use rather than heavy athletic loss.

We also led with potassium rather than sodium, because most American diets are short on potassium and generous with salt.

None of that replaces a conversation with your own physician. If you are on a sodium restricted diet, take a diuretic or a blood pressure medication, or have any kidney concerns, bring the label to your next appointment and ask. That's the right way to make this decision, and it's what we tell our own patients.

What's inside

Four electrolytes, at everyday amounts

No proprietary blends and nothing hidden behind a trademark. Here is the whole formula and what each mineral is there to do.

290 mg Potassium

An essential electrolyte involved in fluid balance, normal muscle function and nerve signaling.

125 mg Sodium

Helps maintain fluid and electrolyte balance, particularly when fluids are lost through everyday activity and perspiration.

100 mg Magnesium

Supports normal muscle and nerve function, and plays a role in hundreds of processes throughout the body.

60 mg Calcium

An essential mineral involved in normal muscle contraction, nerve signaling and overall mineral balance.

Plus the flavor, from actual food

Organic lemon, raspberry and beetroot powders give Daily Hydration its Pink Lemonade taste and its color. The pink you see in the glass is beetroot, not dye.

Questions

Before you join the list

Do I need this if I'm not an athlete?
That's exactly who we built it for. Daily Hydration is formulated for ordinary days: a warm afternoon, a long drive, travel, a walk, a day where you simply didn't drink enough. Athletes losing heavy salt through hours of sweat may need a higher sodium product.
How much sodium is in a serving, and is that a lot?
125 mg per serving. For context, many sport electrolyte packets carry between 500 and 1,000 mg. If you follow a sodium restricted diet or take a medication that affects fluid or mineral balance, review the label with your physician or pharmacist before starting.
Can I take it with my other Ojais supplements?
Yes. Daily Hydration is a mineral and flavor blend, not a stack of botanicals, so it sits alongside the rest of the line without overlap. If you already take our Heart Support magnesium, note that Daily Hydration adds another 100 mg of magnesium to your day.
What does it taste like?
Pink Lemonade, made with organic lemon, raspberry and beetroot. It's tart rather than candy sweet, with no sugar and no artificial sweetener aftertaste.
